PROJECT 2: ONE-FUNCTION SPACE

PROJECT 2: ONE-FUNCTION SPACE

Issued 11Jan10. Due 29Jan10.

MY DESIGN STARTS BY PLANNING A FOUR MODULAR SPACE TO FUNCTION AS A COFFEE HOUSE WITH ITS SUPPORTING ACTIVITY OF HAVING A MINI STAGE USED FOR PERFORMANCE. THE CONCEPT IN DESIGNING THE COFFEE HOUSE ARISES BY THE COFFEE BEAN SHAPE AND THE AROMA FROM A CUP OF HOT COFFEE. THE COFFEE BEAN SHAPE IS USED TO MAKE THE PLATFORM FOR SOFA AND THE COFFEE BAR / CASHIER. THE INTERIOR OF THE COFFEE HOUSE IS MAINLY MADE OF WOOD, IN CONJUNCTION FOR THE BROWN COLOUR THAT RESEMBLE COFFEE RED SOFA IS USED, TO BRING OUT A CONTRAS COLOUR AMONG THE BROWN. COFFEE TABLE AND STOOL IS ALSO PREPARED SO CUSTOMERS CAN BRING ALONG THEIR PERSONAL LAPTOP, HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE WHILE SURFING THE INTERNET. THE DESIGN DEVELOPMENT ALSO CONSIDERED THE VENTILATION ISSUE. THE COFFEE HOUSE IS MAINLY AIR-CONDITIONED TO PROVIDE CUSTOMERS WITH THE MOST COMFORTABLE SURROUNDING TEMPERATURE. HOWEVER, WINDOWS ARE BUILT TO ALLOW VENTILATION, IN CASE ELECTRICITY RUNS DOWN. BESIDES, WINDOWS WITH DOUBLE GLAZING ALLOWS SUNLIGHT INTO THE BUILDING BUT NOT RISING THE TEMPERATURE AND HEAT LEVEL.
